This Privacy Policy describes how Invent Yourself, LLC ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use Beacon, our mental wellness chatbot platform ("the Service").

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you register for Beacon, we collect your email address, username, and password (encrypted, managed by Firebase Authentication).
Messages and Chat Data: We collect and store your messages and interactions with the Beacon chatbot to operate and improve the Service.
Device and Usage Data: We automatically collect information about the devices you use to access Beacon, including IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, access times, and referring URLs.
Analytics Data: We use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to gather aggregated data about how users interact with Beacon (e.g., usage patterns, feature popularity).
Cookies and Tracking: We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication (login/session management) and analytics. No cookies are used for advertising.
Location Data: We may collect approximate location based on your IP address for security and analytics purposes. We do not collect precise GPS data.

2. How We Use Your Information

To operate, maintain, and improve Beacon and its features.

Service Providers: We share data with trusted third-party service providers (such as Google Firebase, Google Analytics, OpenAI) as needed to operate the Service. These providers are required to protect your data and use it only for the intended purpose.
Legal Compliance: We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the safety and rights of users, Beacon, or the public.
Business Transfers: If Invent Yourself, LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. You will be notified (via the app or email) of any such change in ownership.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers or marketers.

4. Data Retention

We retain user account information, chat logs, and usage analytics indefinitely for service improvement, security, compliance, and platform analytics.
If you delete your account, your authentication credentials are removed. Conversation history and metadata may be retained as permitted or required by law, and for platform safety and integrity.

5. Your Rights and Choices

Access, Correction, Deletion: You may request a copy, correction, or deletion of your personal data by emailing simon@50byfriday.com. We may need to verify your identity before processing requests.
Account Deletion: You can delete your account from within Beacon at any time. Deletion will remove your login and profile; chat history may be retained as described above.
Cookies: You may disable cookies in your browser, but this may impact Beacon's functionality (such as logging in).
Opt-out of Analytics: Most browsers offer tools to block analytics cookies. No marketing cookies are used.

6. Security

Your data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/SSL) and at rest (via Firebase and Google Cloud security).
Access to data is strictly limited to authorized personnel and service providers on a need-to-know basis.
We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no system is completely secure. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials.
The database is not publicly accessible and is protected by Google/Firebase security rules.

7. Children's Privacy

Beacon is intended for users aged 18 and over. Users under 18 may use Beacon only with verifiable parental or guardian consent and supervision.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately for removal.

8. International Users

Beacon is designed for users in the United States. We do not target or market to users in the European Union, United Kingdom, or California, and do not knowingly process data subject to GDPR, CCPA, or CPRA at this time.
If this changes, we will update this policy and provide appropriate disclosures and rights to those users.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with the new effective date. We encourage you to review this policy regularly.
Material changes may be communicated via email or app notification.
